Biography
Canan NakiboÄŸlu is a full professor of chemistry education in the Department of Secondary Science and Mathematics Education, in the Necatibey Education Faculty at Balikesir, Turkey. She obtained her Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Ege University at Ä°zmir, Turkey in 1995. She has been at Purdue University (USA) for her post-doctoral studies concerning chemistry education in 1997. She was the visiting scholar at Cambridge University in 2011.
Research Area
Her main research interests are learners' ideas, misconceptions; learners’ cognitive structures; problem solving; teaching and learning in chemistry concepts; chemistry teacher education; chemistry laboratory and V-diagrams. She is also editor-in-chief of Journal of the Turkish Chemical Society, Section C: Chemical Education (JOTCSC).
